Rochester, NY (September 15, 2020) – Cerion, a leader in the science of nanomaterial design, scaleup and manufacturing, announced today that CEO Landon Mertz has been appointed to the board of directors of the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA).
“NIA is delighted that Landon will be joining the Board,” said Dr. Claire Skentelbery, Director General, Nanotechnology Industries Association. “Cerion is a very active and future-focused member and we look forward to translating this energy into the further development of NIA.”
NIA is the organization for supporting the innovation and commercialization of next generation nanotechnologies and their safe and reliable advancement. Since its foundation in 2005, NIA has served Members from across the nanotechnology spectrum to provide representation for international regulatory development, collaborations to promote the development of the wider nanotechnology ecosystem, as well as business and scientific networking to further global commercialization efforts.
“Since its inception the NIA has established itself as the preeminent voice for the ecosystem of nanomaterial makers, users and consumers,” said Landon Mertz, CEO of Cerion Nanomaterials. “NIA’s professionalism and commitment to the community has been unparalleled – I look forward to supporting the vision and mission of both the NIA and the broader community as the growth of the industry continues to accelerate.”
About Cerion Nanomaterials
Cerion is a leader in the science of designing, scaling and manufacturing metal, metal oxide and ceramic nanomaterials for companies developing products.
The cost of developing advanced expertise in nanomaterials is prohibitively expensive and time intensive, resulting in a significant barrier to entry for companies considering its adoption. Cerion provides companies with access to this expertise through all phases of the product life cycle including applied research, development, scale-up, commercialization and manufacturing.
Cerion’s position in the market is enabled by three strategic competitive advantages: deep and demonstrated capability in a.) precision design and customization of both nanoparticle size and technical attributes, b.) robust processes to scale materials from prototype to low and high-volume production rates, and c.) industry-leading, cost-effective manufacturing systems and production capacities.
