Launch of the Advanced Carbons Council
Thursday, 16 January 2025
Zug, Switzerland – 15 January 2025
The Advanced Carbons Council (ACC) has launched today as a global trade association to support the production, adoption and use of engineered advanced carbons.
The ACC mission is to connect and facilitate the cross sector fertilization of ideas, applications and business opportunities for all advanced carbons producers and users, including companies and organizations that produce, use and develop applications for:
Graphene | Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) | Carbon Fiber | Carbon Nanofibers | Synthetic & Engineered Graphite | Carbon-Carbon Composites | Carbon Nanodiamonds (CNDs) | Fullerenes | MXenes and novel carbon forms | Recycled and Reclaimed Carbons
Collectively, these markets represent more than $500b in market turnover and are also leading candidates to help global industry to meet net zero emissions targets through CO2 reduction and mitigation.
Delivered by the same team that has grown and developed The Graphene Council over the past 11 years to become a global community of more than 36,000 materials professionals, the ACC focuses on standards, quality, safety, education, sustainability, advocacy, verification, testing and outreach to connect users with qualified supply chain partners.
“It is time that we intelligently apply different advanced forms of carbon, working together, to create a truly sustainable economy. Whether it is converting reclaimed carbons into high value new materials or extending the life and utility of legacy materials, advanced carbons represent the single greatest opportunity to reduce CO2 emissions while making products that are better, stronger, safer, lighter and more sustainable.” Terrance Barkan, Executive Director, Advanced Carbons Council
We encourage interested parties to reach out for a personal, one on one conversation to discuss how the ACC can support your efforts, whether you are a producer or a potential user of advanced carbon materials.
