Exhibitor Spotlight: LIOS
Saturday, 4 July 2026

Based in Dublin, Lios is an advanced materials company dedicated to eradicating harmful noise pollution. Founded by physicists Rhona Togher and Eimear O’Carroll, the company leverages advanced materials to develop elegant, practical solutions for a quieter world. Lios’ advanced acoustic material, SoundBounce, is a revolutionary, sustainable alternative to traditional acoustic solutions.
Please sum up in a short paragraph what your company’s products and services entail?
Lios has developed SoundBounce, a revolutionary new material designed to tackle noise. This advanced material has applications across multiple industries, including aerospace, construction, appliances, and automotive. SoundBounce is a high-performance, space-saving acoustic material. It is sustainable and cost-effective, delivering significant improvement in noise reduction. With up to 40% lighter and 4 times thinner solutions, SoundBounce is poised to transform the world into a quieter place for future generations.
Which industries benefit most from your materials or solutions?
The growing demand for acoustic insulation, specifically in the transport and construction sectors, is driven by the need for better soundproofing applications in engines, compressors, and other components which emit low-frequency noise, where traditional acoustic materials are inferior.
We work with manufacturers to integrate SoundBounce into their next generation of products and components, delivering a more cost effective, sustainable solution to the issue of damping low-frequency noise. It is thinner, more effective and is proven to work across multiple industries.
What trends in advanced materials excite you the most right now?
If you want to change the world, you have to change the materials. We’re excited about the growing trend towards adopting advanced materials to meet the tough challenges of today’s society, such as noise pollution, circularity, and resource efficiency.
Seeing real world examples of advanced materials improving industry and products is encouraging for all of us working in this space.
What products, services, technologies or materials are you showcasing at The Advanced Materials Show this year?
We are showcasing our flagship product, SoundBounce – an advanced acoustic material. We are currently working with global leaders in building materials and industrial equipment to enhance acoustic insulation in their product portfolios. Our first SoundBounce pilot products will be coming off the line in Q4 2026. We’re keen to chat to potential customers in Birmingham about how we can work together to make their products quieter.
What types of partners or customers are you hoping to connect with at the show?
Find us at Stand 640 as part of the show’s Scale-Up Accelerator. We’re hoping to connect with customers in industrial machinery, building materials, home appliances, and aerospace who want to improve noise performance and efficiency in their products.
What’s the one message you hope attendees take away after meeting your team?
Our advanced acoustic material, which uses technology never before seen in the acoustics fi eld, is thinner, mpetitive, and has superior low-frequency noise reduction when compared to conventional solutions, all while being applicable across a range of industries.
What are you most looking forward to about The Advanced Materials Show?
We’re looking forward to connecting with existing and new customers, scale-up peers, and the broader industry community to collaborate and learn more about developments in the advanced materials space
