Please sum up in a short paragraph what your company’s products and services entail?
Finden is a scientific consultancy and analytical services provider specializing in high-end materials characterization with a particular expertise in advanced X-ray techniques and deep learning-based data analysis. We help connect industry with advanced synchrotron and neutron characterisation, providing innovative insights and solutions to accelerate their R&D. Through our methods we can identify internal processes such as the fundamental mechanisms behind degradation and aging, as well as identify hidden manufacturing defects.
Which industries benefit most from your materials or solutions?
We help clients across many industries including the chemicals, emissions, energy and pharmaceutical sectors.
What trends in advanced materials excite you the most right now?
Use of sustainable technologies, such as evolving Li- and Na-ion batteries for EV’s and energy storage applications and catalysis for emission control rather than conventional adsorbent/absorbent materials. The latter has applications across a range of use conditions from source to point of impact, it can apply to energy production as well as manufacturing and transport, and will have real environmental and health benefits. Looking slightly further afield, recently we have had exciting opportunities to apply our methods to deepening understanding of additive manufactured objects and applications within the nuclear fusion industry.
What products, services, technologies or materials are you showcasing at The Advanced Materials Show this year?
We are showcasing our state-of-the-art operando characterisation methods that reveal the “real” internal structure of intact objects and commercial devices—exactly as they function in the real world. These methods are enhanced by our custom software and AI/ML assisted data processing.
What types of partners or customers are you hoping to connect with at the show?
Our advanced characterisation methods are applicable across a wide range of advanced materials and devices, anything that has a hierarchical physical/chemical structure, from the nano to macro scale.
What’s the one message you hope attendees take away after meeting your team?
An understanding of how advanced characterization can help improve the efficiency, performance and longevity of their products and processes giving them a competitive edge and the ability to fast-track their R&D.
What are you most looking forward to about The Advanced Materials Show?
We are excited to have the opportunity to share our unique methods, learn more about new trends and explore the cutting-edge developments on show. We hope to connect with like-minded innovators to develop new partnerships and help improve products and processes.
