IKA recognized as a socially committed company

Medium-sized enterprise award for social responsibility

In 2021, IKA, once again, was distinguished as being “socially committed” as part of the medium-sized enterprise award for social responsibility by the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The basis for this distinction is the voluntary initiative “HANDS for Children” launched by Managing Partner René Stiegelmann. Retired IKA employees have been working on this initiative voluntarily since 2000, raising donations for children’s aid programs in Africa and Latin America. In 2019, a total of 150,000 euros was raised for medical care for disabled children in Uganda, and for school education programs in Tanzania. In addition, IKA is also involved in sporting, cultural, social and church projects right here on our doorstep.

With the HANDS for Children project, IKA has found a form of commitment perfectly suited to the company’s philosophy. And, the reason is because: “we can help best,” according to René Stiegelmann, “if we act in the same way as we do in our day-to-day business activity. By finding solutions, thinking entrepreneurially and tackling things head on.”

After a forced time-out period due to Covid-19, the committed retirees hope to be back in action for needy children and adolescents from September onwards.
